Re-edit and Re-film

 

    This weekend that just passed I was supposed to re-film the kitchen and morning scene. Since Sunday was Easter, I could only film after work on Saturday. This cut my time in more than half. After work on Saturday, I asked my friend to help me film the kitchen scene again. Though, the lighting was not that good and I had to tell my family to go elsewhere for the meantime so there wasn't any background noise. With the kitchen scene, I had to grab the bottle of medicine and leave and come back. I did not have the medicine I thought, but it still worked. I had to grab the costume I used for the majority of the film, but it was in the wash, so I had to wait for it to dry. Saturday I was able to finish the kitchen scene, and now all I have left is the morning and beach scene. Sunday was Easter and I spent that day with my family. This week I am going to finish the beach and morning scenes so that the following week can be all about editing. For the beach scene, I got another friend to participate in the film, so it solves the actor issue. For transportation, I will be using my dad's car. I have work on Saturday, so I will most likely be filming after work and a little on Sunday. Overall, the process of this film has been very stressful, but I know it will be worth it at the end. My friends are ready for me to send them the film once I am finished for a peer-edit, and to give constructive feedback.

  This website shows only a movie's title sequence where you can watch and study. This website has different categories to choose from, featuring popular films people usually watch. Throughout looking through this website, I learned how important a title sequence is towards a movie. The title sequence sets the mood for what's about to happen, and make the audience interested. With a uninformative, boring title sequence, the audience can being to lose interest in the movie. What I also learned is that the titles need to flow smoothly with the transitions. Every title sequence I watched shows the titles moving throughout the different scenes, which gets the moving going. For example, if the title does not flow throughout the opening sequence, and just disappear and come back, it looks unprofessional and not smooth. This would also make it harder to further the scene.

Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out.          I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place.
