Almost There

    

            


This weekend I will be filming the beach scene with one of my other friends. Hopefully on Saturday after work I will complete this process so that I can get started on finishing my editing. For the beach scene I chose to wear a bathing suit cover up so it did not look so revealing. I put the bathing suit and the cover up in the wash so it can be ready for after work. I get off at 4 so hopefully there is still some sunlight left to do this or else I will have to wait another day again. I realized that if I do the beach scene over again, I would have to re-do the car scene. The problem is that I do not have the clothes I used in that car, or the same vehicle. I will have to ask my dad to borrow one of his cars to shoot this scene, and change my outfit into something else since I lost the original. Going to the beach on a Saturday afternoon is horrible because of all of the people and traffic. I am worried that it will be too loud for any dialogue scenes and too many background distractions. This will all have to be fixed when we arrive. As far as editing, I have a couple of more days before I can work on this, but in the meantime I sent the beginning scenes to a friend to make sure the editing and song choices were okay. Their feedback was very good and they said everything went well together and sent out a beautiful message. The only problem was that there was a delay in the sound that might have been because of the outdated computer or the software used, so I am not that worried. Besides this film, I have had a handful of other work for classes that I have been trying to keep up with. This is why it is taking me so long to finish the essay, because I am also studying for 3 other big tests coming up.

             After work on Saturday, I took a trip to the beach to complete the remaining scenes of the film. While there, it was starting to get dark. I had to make the best of what I had, and continued to film and direct. After I came back from the beach, I went on to my computer and imported the videos into my editing software. I re-aligned all of the videos so that it did not look choppy. Now that all of my films are done, I decided to start editing the same day. I did not get finished with all of the editing, so I had to work on it through Sunday as well. I decided to mute some of the scenes and add the music so that it did not look like there was too much dialogue. The music I chose as the background fit perfectly with the mood and idea of the film. I was having trouble with using the music and the dialogue at the same time, but I adjusted the volume of the music and made it seem like the dialogue was far away sounding. After ...

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. Genre Research: Boyhood

  The movie "Boyhood" follows the same characters for a time period of 12 years. The point of the film was to share how fast life can hit you. The movie follows the young boy throughout his life in a broken home. His mom goes through a series of phases that are wrong for her, creating a toxic life for the child. The movie goes through a fast pace of how the child grows up to an adults, and as soon as you know it are looking for colleges and moving out. Throughout the kid growing older, we get an insight on the living situation where the father is unstable, and the bills are barely getting paid. This creates an economic issue, as well as family problems. Drama elements throughout this movie is dialogue, lighting, and camera angles. The movie is full of dialogue between the boy and his acquaintances, friends and family members. As he experiences life, he shares many arguments with his mom that set the mood or plot of the scene.
