The first two pages of the storyboard are explaining what the girl goes through on a daily basis, and what leads up to her decision. It shows how hurtful comments really affect people and make them insecure about themselves. The next two pages of the storyboard emphasize how many people look past close friend's feelings. The boy dismissed the girls feelings and didn't try to help in any way. The two pages after this show there girl's though process and decision making as she begins to feel like this will never end. You see she goes for the medicine bottle, but makes herself put it back. The next two pages show the girl trying to change herself to meet people's standards, but still doesn't satisfy her happiness. The girl tries to get rid of what she knows is bad for her. The last two pages show the cause of how someone's one negative comment can persuade a person to make bad life decisions. The boy finally sees what she is going through and stops her from hurting herself. This took me a long time to make because I wanted to go into detail, and create a meaningful story that made sense to others.

Editing

             After work on Saturday, I took a trip to the beach to complete the remaining scenes of the film. While there, it was starting to get dark. I had to make the best of what I had, and continued to film and direct. After I came back from the beach, I went on to my computer and imported the videos into my editing software. I re-aligned all of the videos so that it did not look choppy. Now that all of my films are done, I decided to start editing the same day. I did not get finished with all of the editing, so I had to work on it through Sunday as well. I decided to mute some of the scenes and add the music so that it did not look like there was too much dialogue. The music I chose as the background fit perfectly with the mood and idea of the film. I was having trouble with using the music and the dialogue at the same time, but I adjusted the volume of the music and made it seem like the dialogue was far away sounding. After ...

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. For example, the scenes where I was in the mirror took more skill since the camera man cannot be seen in the video. Another scene that was hard to do was the bathroom scene because...

Genre Research: Boyhood

  The movie "Boyhood" follows the same characters for a time period of 12 years. The point of the film was to share how fast life can hit you. The movie follows the young boy throughout his life in a broken home. His mom goes through a series of phases that are wrong for her, creating a toxic life for the child. The movie goes through a fast pace of how the child grows up to an adults, and as soon as you know it are looking for colleges and moving out. Throughout the kid growing older, we get an insight on the living situation where the father is unstable, and the bills are barely getting paid. This creates an economic issue, as well as family problems. Drama elements throughout this movie is dialogue, lighting, and camera angles. The movie is full of dialogue between the boy and his acquaintances, friends and family members. As he experiences life, he shares many arguments with his mom that set the mood or plot of the scene.
