Fixing the Errors


         

    Although I have managed to be finished with the majority of the final task, I am worried that I am rushing it. Therefore, I am going step by step throughout the processes again so that I can be certain it is good. The first person I asked to review my final task said that there were many errors. I went through these errors as I explained in the previous blog. Still, some of the scenes were giving me problems in the aspects of the film looking too awkward or having too much dialogue. In the planning process, I was worried that the film will have too little dialogue, but I think I overdid it. I am going to try to see where I can cut some of the dialogue out, while still keeping the clear message being shared. The music and dialogue does not go well together, so I would also have to find where I am going to stop the music and play the dialogue without it being too noticeable. Some of the dialogue may be just unnecessary as well, because it is just the opening scene. With this being said, the opening scene does not need to be telling the full story, just enough to leave them wanting for more. I feel strong about my ending where I add ambulance sounds, a black screen and ambulance lights in the background, because it gives the audience a cliff hanger. As for the titles, I am strong that the title and title sequence are correct and good. Since this is a drama film, I tried to implement some aspects from the genre like the type of music and the camera angles. While watching movies, I tend to pay more attention to the opening sequences now, to give me ideas. This may be the cause of me being so worried about mine not being good, since I pay attention to these so much. Spring break just started, so this gives me more time to make sure everything is what I want it to be. With school, there was so much stress being put on me, because I had to deal with other assignments on top of filming the opening sequence. Since I was not assigned any film work over the break, I won't be that productive this week, but enough to make sure that when I come back I don't have to worry about anything. Once I am done with fixing my errors, I will be finished with my project.

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out.   Creative Critical Reflection 1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?      My product was based around the pop genre. In this genre of music, it is more upbeat, full of dancing, and bold clothing. Most pop songs relate to relationships and what teen’s are into. My product revolves around relationships, and looking for them. The beat is joyful, and the accessories are bold. The setting of most pop songs are near the beach, at a carnival or a public setting where multiple people are seen in the background and make appearances through the video. My product does the opposite, and switches back and forth from one girl to another.
