Filming and Editing for Final Task

  




   I recently started filming the beginning scenes of the film because I was having trouble with the camera man. I had to wait until the morning to film the first scene because it required the sunrise as well as the time of day. I then had to get the right angle in order to film the scenes with me in front of the mirror because the camera was visible. I could not film the beach scenes yet because there has been a lot of people than usual at the beach. Therefore, for everyone's safety, we have decided to postpone this scene until a quieter day. As for the editing process, I am questioning if my music choice fits the theme or mood of my film, or if it will make it awkward. I will start half of my editing process once half of the film is completed. This will make it easier for when the other half is completed so that I know how I will edit it. I plan to film the beach days this weekend of 3/6/21 and 3/7/21 before the Spring Break rush starts at the beach. The car scenes will be filmed in front of my house, and we will not actually be driving while filming because it causes safety issues. Since it is not my car, I have to wait until the owner is available to lend it to me. Overall, most of the filming and editing process will start next week, which is 3/8/21. The scenes filmed will be the bathroom scene and the kitchen scenes. I have to go to the store to get the fake hair used for the bathroom scene. Since I do not have a car right now, I have to wait until someone can bring me. After I get the hair, most of the scenes will be filmed smoothly with just the editing left. The editing will be completed within 3-4 weeks. This is so that I have enough time to send my finished product to others to peer review and edit. I will send my finished product to two other people who are experienced in this subject. This will give me enough time to make any changes to the film if necessary.

             After work on Saturday, I took a trip to the beach to complete the remaining scenes of the film. While there, it was starting to get dark. I had to make the best of what I had, and continued to film and direct. After I came back from the beach, I went on to my computer and imported the videos into my editing software. I re-aligned all of the videos so that it did not look choppy. Now that all of my films are done, I decided to start editing the same day. I did not get finished with all of the editing, so I had to work on it through Sunday as well. I decided to mute some of the scenes and add the music so that it did not look like there was too much dialogue. The music I chose as the background fit perfectly with the mood and idea of the film. Finished

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. Genre Research: Boyhood

  The movie "Boyhood" follows the same characters for a time period of 12 years. The point of the film was to share how fast life can hit you. The movie follows the young boy throughout his life in a broken home. His mom goes through a series of phases that are wrong for her, creating a toxic life for the child. The movie goes through a fast pace of how the child grows up to an adults, and as soon as you know it are looking for colleges and moving out. Throughout the kid growing older, we get an insight on the living situation where the father is unstable, and the bills are barely getting paid. This creates an economic issue, as well as family problems. Drama elements throughout this movie is dialogue, lighting, and camera angles. The movie is full of dialogue between the boy and his acquaintances, friends and family members. As he experiences life, he shares many arguments with his mom that set the mood or plot of the scene.
