Filming and Costumes for Final Task

        

        I went to the beach Sunday, and filmed the beach scenes that were left. I also filmed the car scenes on the way to the beach. There was a lot of loud noise in the car, so I might have to adjust the audio once I start editing this part. As we filmed the beach scenes, there were a lot of people talking in the background and walking in the shot, so we had to retake it multiple times to get the perfect shot. Since we were at the beach, we were wearing bathing suits and beach clothes, but I had to put on a less revealing bathing suit to keep the filming appropriate. While in the car, it was hard to get a good shot of both of us, so we had to film each other one at a time. I may have to put this scene as a VoiceOver for someone's part so the editing does not look so obvious. After filming the first half of the film, I have decided to start piecing some of the scenes together using the OpenShot editor. I had to find the right font to use, and plan how I will put each title in the scene without it blending in or it being hard to read. I then plugged in the music, but I had to alter the volume to bring it lower. This is because you could barely hear the dialogue in the scenes. Since it started raining this weekend, it was hard to get good lighting inside of my house. Since most of my light comes from the sun, the lighting would have been dark and hard to see in the opening sequence. We have postponed some of the other scenes for when it is lighter outside and I do not have as much homework. When doing the titles for the opening sequence, it was hard to replicate for what I originally planned. Therefore, I changed it a little but not too much to be totally different from previous. My next plan is to finish the editing processes. I will also be reshooting some scenes because of the lighting and the bad audio. After this process, I will be going on to editing the film myself a few times. I will then send it to my peers for editing to perfect it.

  This website shows only a movie's title sequence where you can watch and study. This website has different categories to choose from, featuring popular films people usually watch. Throughout looking through this website, I learned how important a title sequence is towards a movie. The title sequence sets the mood for what's about to happen, and make the audience interested. With a uninformative, boring title sequence, the audience can being to lose interest in the movie. What I also learned is that the titles need to flow smoothly with the transitions. Every title sequence I watched shows the titles moving throughout the different scenes, which gets the moving going. For example, if the title does not flow throughout the opening sequence, and just disappear and come back, it looks unprofessional and not smooth. This would also make it harder to further the scene.

Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out.          I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place.
