Editing and Taking Breaks
I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out. After re-shooting these, I imported them into my editing software. The first thing I did for editing is putting all of the videos in order. Then, I cut some of the video out of each one to create a smooth transition. Some of the editing was turned into a fade on purpose depending on the scene. Then I muted the scenes that did not require any noise. I imported the background music and changed the volume depending on the scene, or cutting it out all together. I did this because some of the scenes required dialogue, and the background music would distract from this. After doing this, I took a break for two days. With this two-day break, I took the time to find my peer reviewers, so that when I am done with the final task, they will be prepared to sit down and pay attention to the film. The other thing I did on my two-day break was relax and clear my mind, because it is stressful filming and editing this all when you want it to be perfect. After the break, I went back to the editing process. I started to insert the titles in order. First I left off from where I wanted to place the titles. Some of the titles were longer than expected, and did not fit in the spaces I planned. Although this was a setback, I quickly found another spot for the ones that did not fit. To wrap up, I made sure the titles were fading in and out on time, and long enough to be read.
