Starting the Final Task

     My name is Mackenzie Mcauley, and I am a junior attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I am 17 years old, and have a passion in music, film and fashion. I am in the Pre-Law Magnet program, although I take multiple AICE classes as well as AP classes. I have been working at Chick-Fil-A for over a year now, and plan to be promoted soon. Some hobbies I enjoy are traveling, playing sports, shopping and hanging out with friends. My plans for after high school are to attend a four-year college, and become a dentist. I find anything in the medical field fascinating because you get to fix people's problems. My top 2 colleges are UF and UCF. I want to go to UCF because I love the environment there. UF offers a dental program, which is convenient since I need to go to dental school. I am more of an introvert, meaning I am usually content and quiet around others. I like to do most things by myself, because I like to be in control of the plans for a task, and to be responsible for the outcome. For this task, I will be working alone. I see that it is best if I work alone so I don't have to rely on anyone or put any responsibility and someone that may not follow through. I also like to work alone because it helps me focus and get things done easier as well as faster. With a partner, the work would have to be put on hold until the other person and I could plan out a schedule of when to meet.

Editing

             After work on Saturday, I took a trip to the beach to complete the remaining scenes of the film. While there, it was starting to get dark. I had to make the best of what I had, and continued to film and direct. After I came back from the beach, I went on to my computer and imported the videos into my editing software. I re-aligned all of the videos so that it did not look choppy. Now that all of my films are done, I decided to start editing the same day. I did not get finished with all of the editing, so I had to work on it through Sunday as well. I decided to mute some of the scenes and add the music so that it did not look like there was too much dialogue. The music I chose as the background fit perfectly with the mood and idea of the film. I was having trouble with using the music and the dialogue at the same time, but I adjusted the volume of the music and made it seem like the dialogue was far away sounding. After ...

Finished

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. Genre Research: Boyhood

  The movie "Boyhood" follows the same characters for a time period of 12 years. The point of the film was to share how fast life can hit you. The movie follows the young boy throughout his life in a broken home. His mom goes through a series of phases that are wrong for her, creating a toxic life for the child. The movie goes through a fast pace of how the child grows up to an adults, and as soon as you know it are looking for colleges and moving out. Throughout the kid growing older, we get an insight on the living situation where the father is unstable, and the bills are barely getting paid. This creates an economic issue, as well as family problems. Drama elements throughout this movie is dialogue, lighting, and camera angles. The movie is full of dialogue between the boy and his acquaintances, friends and family members. As he experiences life, he shares many arguments with his mom that set the mood or plot of the scene.
