My Pitch

      After planning for a while, I have came up with two pitches about my film. The first pitch was about how underage drinking can obstruct a teenager's health. This film would consist of an opening scene of an underage girl at a party having drinks she is not suppose to. The next scene would cut to her in the bathroom not feeling well, as the tension starts to build up more and more. I would be interested in this film because it spreads awareness for teens who may participate in underage drinking to inform them. Although this is a good awareness, I feel like it is too short of a pitch, where if it was dragged out, the audience would become bored. The other pitch had to deal with the pressure of today's standards and bullying. This film would start with a girl scrolling through pictures sharing her frustration on how she thinks people will react. Throughout the film, you can see how the female's mood evolved drastically because of the impact of other people's opinions. This leads to the issue of bullying and depression in young adults. I chose the second pitch because it can relate more to today's issues, as well as make a change to a person's perspective. Bullying can cause depression in people you would least expect, and it may be too late to reach out to them. Therefore, the point of the film would be to help people who struggle with bullying and depression and let them know they are not alone.

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place.                     My name is Mackenzie Mcauley, and I am a junior and 16 years old. I am taking this class to learn more about different forms of media, terms and how to advance in my technological skills. I've been attending  Fort Lauderdale High School (FLHS) and play on the softball team. I have been playing softball since I was 7 years old, and been apart of the school's team since Freshman year. I am in the Pre-law program, but I take Cambridge classes to meet the AICE diploma requirements. After I graduate, I hope to attend either UF or Nova to become a dentist. Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out. After re-shooting these, I imported them into my editing software. The first thing I did for editing is putting all of the videos in order.
