1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

My product uses conventions by showing the technology and setting of a typical commercial by Apple. It also provides the same futuristic theme by adding the same type of music found in the background of the commercial, with similar camera angles and movements. This represents social groups by connecting others through technology. This develops communication between distance.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My product engages with audiences by showing how two people can communicate or meet each other without having to be near one another. In this day in age, technology is evolving and becoming very popular. This is where people find new friends and relationships, share their life, etc. This would be described as a real media text because it can be put on all platforms. I created a commercial, where I recorded different scenes, and put them together. I then uploaded it to a multimedia platform, where anyone can view.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

Before this project, I have never tried different camera angles or different editing techniques. In this project, I attempted a pan, as well as switching between different scenes. I also created the logo and slogan on an alternative software, and implemented it into the editing software I used. I also downloaded a free song to use as the background, and muted all of the unnecessary noise from the other videos. Some things I could have done better is research more on how to lower the volume of the music, so that I could have used a voice over without the music being too overpowering.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I integrated technology by using an editing software on my computer, making the commercial about technology and posting the commercial on to a public platform. The editing software I used in this project is called Openshot. This was used to cut individual scenes, manipulate the volume, introduce transitions, and put the whole movie together. I used the internet to post my commercial, so that I could link it into my blog.

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out.   Creative Critical Reflection 1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?      My product was based around the pop genre. In this genre of music, it is more upbeat, full of dancing, and bold clothing. Most pop songs relate to relationships and what teen’s are into. My product revolves around relationships, and looking for them. The beat is joyful, and the accessories are bold. The setting of most pop songs are near the beach, at a carnival or a public setting where multiple people are seen in the background and make appearances through the video. My product does the opposite, and switches back and forth from one girl to another. This represents the teen group and what there likes and dislikes are, and goes out of the way to connect to the teen group.     2.
