Planning For My Iphone Commercial

 

Props: 

Since I am doing an Apple Iphone commercial, the main prop I will be using is a newer Iphone. For the background I will be using a neutral colored sheet or wall, to make the product stand out. Some other props that will be included is the sky, and bubbles. 


Costumes:

One take in the commercial will include a person blowing bubbles into the sky. The costume will include bright colors, to set the mood of being upbeat and happy. A white or pink shirt, and shorts will be seen in this scene of the commercial. 


Schedule:

On 10/22/20 I will research the conventions and codes of Apple Iphone commercials

On 10/23/20 I will establish the props, costumes, backup plan and location the commercial takes place. 

On 10/25/20 I will create the storyboard for my commercial lasting 30 seconds.

On 10/27/20 I will set up and film the shots for the commercial.

On 10/28/20 I will edit and make any final decision for my commercial.


Location:

The main location for my commercial will be my house, considering the necessary shots are filmed behind a plain background. This gives the simplicity of the product, and assists in sharing the modern and informative aspects of the commercial. The second location will be filmed in my backyard or the park to capture a nice sunset view. This focuses on the aesthetic of camera quality, persuading the audience to get the best quality camera from the product. 


Backup Plan:

If something happens to where I cannot capture a nice sunset view for the camera quality, I will switch to a home aspect, relating the product to cooking videos, or watching tv. If I can't find a clean, plain background to isolate the phone, I will place the phone on a table or hang a bed sheet to create a nice atmosphere.

         I managed to get the feedback from my other peers and received mostly good news. Everyone said that the film was well edited and was really nice. This was a long process, but I am glad that it is over with. All I have to do now is touch up some errors and turn it in. Throughout this long process I learned how to make a 2 minute opening sequence, embed music, edit and place titles. There were a lot of setbacks that came from making this film, but I managed to get through it. Some of the characters had to be changed because they did not come through in the process, as well as some scenes the characters were in. I was still flexible enough to keep the show going on, and finish the final product. It was hard to get some of the camera angles because of where the scenes took place. For example, the scenes where I was in the mirror took more skill since the camera man cannot be seen in the video. Another scene that was hard to do was the bathroom scene because...

Editing and Taking Breaks

                        I have almost come to the end of the final task. So far, I have shot all of the scenes needed, and started editing some of the clips together. While reviewing the scenes, I noticed that the lighting was off in some parts. I had to have someone in my family help me record these scenes again. For example, The beginning scene was too dark because of how early it was, so we had to pretend it was early in the morning for the scene. I have a light dimmer, so I adjusted the lighting to create a brighter look. I also had to re-shoot the kitchen scenes because there was too much background noise that could not be canceled out. CCR for Music Video

  Creative Critical Reflection 1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?      My product was based around the pop genre. In this genre of music, it is more upbeat, full of dancing, and bold clothing. Most pop songs relate to relationships and what teen’s are into. My product revolves around relationships, and looking for them. The beat is joyful, and the accessories are bold. The setting of most pop songs are near the beach, at a carnival or a public setting where multiple people are seen in the background and make appearances through the video. My product does the opposite, and switches back and forth from one girl to another. This represents the teen group and what there likes and dislikes are, and goes out of the way to connect to the teen group.     2.
